Today’s recipe is for a Simple Beef Stroganoff. I used sirloin for the cut of beef but you can use ribeye of tenderloin.
Ingredients
- 1 lb of beef sirloin, sliced thin
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire (optional, I didn’t use it because we have someone on the boat with an allergy)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cup beef stock
- 1 cup sour cream
- salt and pepper to taste
- about 4 cups cooked egg noodles and parsley or chives for garnish if you like.
Directions
- Heat a large pan to medium heat and melt the butter.
- Add the onions and cook until they start to brown then add the mushrooms stir until cooked and remove from the pan.
- In the pan you removed the onions from cook the garlic for a few minutes then add the beef and stir until all the beef is cooked.
- Add the stock and lemon, bring to a boil stirring occasionally until the stock is reduced to half.
- Once reduced add the sour cream then season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve it up with the egg noodles. Have a great evening.
